Sorry I've been MIA

I have neglected this blog and I miss it. I'm sorry my friends for not keeping up with it. I know I'm a new blogger and I shouldn't of let it slide.  I have a goal to keep up more and hopefully have new and fun stuff to blog about. 

School is starting up here soon, 2 weeks....EEEKKK Not. Ready. At. All. and that means I go back to work too, yay paycheck again!! I am kind of... I reiterate kind of ready for routine again but not ready for early mornings, packing lunches, and drop off and pick up. We have been enjoying our summer way too much. That's a post I'll definitely blog about!!

The planning begins...My son's birthday party

Ever since the kids' first birthday, I get excited to plan their party! I loved their parties when they were little. The excitement on their faces with family and friends all around and when the open their gifts and eat their cake! I loved picking out the theme with their help of course!! I used to make the cakes to go with the theme for example on year for Nathan's birthday, I made a dinosaur cake. I loved that cake, it was fun to make. I wish I had a digital pic of it to show y'all! My most recent cake I made was for Alexis' 10th birthday. It was a 'pinspiration' of course!! She had her party at the local gym and their indoor pool so went with a Luau theme. How many times can I write 'their' in this post?

Well my Nathan will be turning 9 years old at the end of this month. He has asked for a Star Wars themed party this year. So what do I do?? Turn to Pinterest for help!! I've been pinning crazy lately and found a lots of great ideas!!!

Name changed of course

His request was for hamburgers and a cookie cake. Done, I can do that! I found great ideas for the foods to be served like Darth Vader Taters ( tater tots), Jar Jar Links in a Blanket (pigs in a blanket), Leia Buns (pecan pinwheels) and more. I am excited to plan this party and I'm not even a big Star Wars fan. But what we do for our babies right!! I will be taking lots of pictures and will have a blog post on this hope to be fabulous Star Wars party!!

I usually carry my luggage a huge bag and everything is just thrown in there but lately I've been carrying a cross over bag. I love them a lot. I don't have to worry about where my purse is when shopping and don't have to worry about it falling off my shoulder 853629 times! 

I bought this beauty off Poshmark for a steal! I love it. The design on the front is pretty and it goes with everything!! ;) 

I can't fit as much as I can in my big bag but that's good! Less junk. I do have little bags to corral my little stuff. 

Yep this all fit in there!! 

My pink sequin makeup bag carries my lip gloss, a few of them! Hand sanitizer spray, Faith Hill True perfume spray, contact case for ibuprofen. 

I love my owl bag handmade by Hilani. Visit her blog here. I carry my tic tacs, more lip gloss, lotion and floss. I put this stuff in here so I can easily grab and get what I need quickly. 

This is a foldable recyclable bag. I love I can just whip it out when I forget my bags or I just run into the store for a few items. I have a thing with plastic bags...hate them! 

These items are in the pockets. Yes three packs of gum and breath mints, I like to have fresh breath!! Body spray, more lip gloss, chapstick and pocket bac, scent Dancing with Water. 

Had to include a receipt from the store that takes all my money!!! 

Well that is a look inside my purse. I forgot to take a picture of my wallet, I think got it from Target a few years ago. I need a new smaller one so it will fit better in my cross over purse!

Weekend Wrap Up

This past weekend was a great weekend. I got to hold a precious newborn baby. My nephew and his girlfriend welcomed a baby girl into this world!! She was born Tuesday March 19. She is a tiny little thing, petite like her momma. I went to meet her on Wednesday and then my kids met her on Saturday. Then again today, Sunday I got to hold and get some love from her!! She is the most precious thing!!!

Friday

After work I went thrift shopping at Goodwill. you can see my goodies I found here. Then picked up my niece from school and headed home. The kids loved when their cousin is here to play. That night Alexis had a friend over to spend the night. The girls were in bed and asleep by 11. :)

Saturday

It was a rainy and yucky day here in the Carolinas. I thought Spring was here but it's not feeling like it so far. I took the kids over my mom's to meet their new second cousin. They were so sweet holding this itty bitty baby!!

Aww 

 Later that night we rented the movie 'Wreck It Ralph'. It was a really cute movie.

And again... rainy and yucky.... ALL. DAY. LONG. We went to Church and enjoyed a great service for Palm Sunday. I'm looking forward to next week's Easter Service! The kids went to their grandparents for awhile after lunch and I took the time to love on baby Autumn again!!

Thrifty Goodwill Haul

I pick up my sweet niece Hannah from school two days a week. There is a Goodwill on my way in a nice area. I stopped in there before Christmas and scored a like new big wreath from Michael's for $3.00. It still had the original price tag on it, $24.99. Wow!!

I stopped in there about a month ago and scored some chapter books for my kids for about .99 each. That was a super purchase because they were excited to get new books!!


So to kill some time before getting Hannah from school, I went searching for some cardigans. This Goodwill has some nice resale clothes, like from Loft, Ann Taylor, Talbots, Gap. No luck in the cardi dept but I did find some dresses... in my size!! Score! I also picked up 2 belts and a special gift for a little girl I had in my class last year. It's a ladybug bookbag with her name on it for only $1.99. Had to get it. :)

What I'm Loving Right Now: Mint

Seems Mint is in!! I'm not a 'green' color person, I don't think it looks good on me. But lately with all the mint popping up, I am really liking it. Mint is light, not dark so I think I can get away with wearing it and liking it! I purchased a navy and mint stripe shirt on clearance from Old Navy//similar//  the other week and love it.

Easy Peasy Easter Craft

Browsing Pinterest the other night, I came across this cute craft for Easter. It looks so simple yet so pretty!

How cute is this? She used the pastic eggs and some skewers. Did you know the plastci eggs had holes in the bottom...I didn't, until now! 

 So I was in the Dollar Tree this Saturday morning and saw a few items that I could use to recreate this bouquet. 

I found this super cute striped box *I love stripes* and these decorated eggs with bows! I grabbed some 'grass' and a craft foam. 

I cut my foam to fit my box. 

Then stuck those super cute eggs in the foam. Arranged to my liking. 

Aren't they perty! 

Added some green grass and Viola! Done! 10 minutes max! Easy Peasy. Oh and it only cost me four whole dollars!!! 

I love it! It's so cute and sweet! 

It's not exactly like the photo inspiration but I like it. I may add a bigger ribbon or a bow in the front, and maybe more eggs, I dunno... we'll see!
